Restoration and Redevelopment Project of the Former Lolli Station Complex – Cultural Hub of LUMSA University

The firm oversaw the preliminary, detailed, and executive structural design, as well as seismic retrofit assessments, as part of the restoration and functional redevelopment of the former Stazione Lolli complex in Palermo, designated to become the new Cultural Hub of LUMSA University.

The project involved an in-depth structural analysis of the existing buildings, with particular focus on the seismic vulnerability of the load-bearing masonry elements and the steel roof structures. The design included the static consolidation of the former vehicle repair pavilion and the structural upgrading of the large steel canopy, through the introduction of stiffening and strengthening systems compatible with the historical and architectural value of the building and in accordance with the principles of reversibility and conservation.
